    Containerized A²O-MBR Integrated Wastewater Treatment Plant 13 The synergy between A²/O and MBR creates a superior treatment platform:

    • The A²/O Process provides a dedicated anaerobic zone at the head of the process, promoting the growth of PAOs (Phosphorus Accumulating Organisms). These organisms uptake volatile fatty acids and subsequently release phosphorus, leading to enhanced biological phosphorus removal in the aerobic zone, reducing chemical consumption.
    • The MBR Technology retains all biomass, including slow-growing nitrifiers and PAOs, within the bioreactor. This results in a more diverse and effective biomass population and completely independent control of hydraulic and solids retention times.
