Product Overview
The antiscalant dosing system is a core auxiliary water treatment device widely applied in reverse osmosis (RO), circulating cooling water, boiler, and heat exchanger systems. It is designed for accurate, continuous, and automatic dosing of antiscalants. The system effectively inhibits the crystallization and scaling of calcium, magnesium, silicon, and sulfate ions, thereby protecting membrane elements, pipelines and heat exchange equipment, and improving the overall operational stability of water treatment systems.
Chemical Storage & Dissolving Unit
- Chemical Tank: Made of PE, PP, 304 or 316 stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance. Equipped with a liquid level gauge for real-time liquid level monitoring. It stores concentrated or diluted antiscalant solution. Large-scale systems are configured with dissolving tanks for solid chemical dissolution.
- Electric Agitator: Prevents chemical precipitation and stratification, ensuring uniform solution concentration and stable dosing quality.
Core Dosing Unit (Metering Pump)
As the core component of the system, electromagnetic diaphragm metering pumps and mechanical diaphragm metering pumps are commonly adopted, with adjustable flow rates ranging from 0 to dozens of liters per hour to realize precise quantitative dosing. A one-duty and one-standby pump configuration is usually adopted to ensure uninterrupted system operation.
Pipeline & Safety Accessories
- Pipelines: Adopt UPVC or 316 stainless steel corrosion-resistant pipes
- Auxiliary components: Y-type filter, back pressure valve, safety valve, pulse damper, check valve and dosing joint. These accessories prevent liquid backflow, stabilize pipeline flow and protect the metering pump from damage.
Control Unit
- Basic Manual Type: Equipped with manual knobs and timers for fixed-flow continuous dosing.
- Automatic Intelligent Type: Adopts PLC and touch screen control. The system can automatically adjust the dosing amount by linking with inlet water flow, conductivity, pH value and water hardness. It supports low liquid level alarm, interlocked system start/stop and remote control functions.
Online Monitoring Unit (High-end Configuration)
Equipped with online conductivity meters, pH sensors and water hardness sensors to monitor water quality parameters in real time. It forms a closed-loop control system to avoid chemical waste and scaling risks caused by insufficient or excessive dosing.
Working Principle
First, the antiscalant solution is fully stirred and homogenized in the chemical tank. Then, the metering pump extracts the quantitative chemical solution and delivers it to the preset dosing point through corrosion-resistant pipelines. The dosed antiscalant achieves scale inhibition through three core mechanisms: chelation, dispersion and crystal lattice distortion. It wraps scaling ions such as calcium, magnesium and silicon, destroys their regular crystallization structure, and prevents scale adhesion on equipment surfaces. Meanwhile, the intelligent control system dynamically adjusts the dosing rate according to real-time water flow and water quality changes to maintain optimal operating conditions.
Main Dosing Points
- Reverse Osmosis System: Between the security filter and high-pressure pump (standard installation position) to ensure full mixing and protect RO membranes.
- Circulating Cooling Water System: Main circulating water pipeline or makeup water pipeline.
- Boiler System: Boiler feed water pipeline.

- RO Water Treatment System: 2–6 ppm (mg/L)
- Industrial Circulating Cooling Water System: 4–10 ppm (mg/L)
The precise dosage shall be calculated and adjusted according to actual water quality indicators (hardness, alkalinity, silicon content) and system water flow.
